Parents' Association Activity Guide

Used Uniform Sale (August, February)
Purchase used uniforms in excellent condition at greatly reduced prices.

All Parent Coffee (August)

All parents are invited to attend this important meeting to learn about their children’s grade-level activities, including parties, field trips and service learning. Also learn about Parents’ Association sponsored events.

Book Fair (September)
The Book Fair generates school spirit by promoting literacy with an outstanding selection of books and gifts for all ages. Volunteers facilitate this fundraiser in many ways, including running cashiers, restocking books, and providing customer service.

Buddy Lunch (Fall)
A special lunch is arranged by volunteers for the school’s Buddy Program.

Dad’s Club Events (Fall, Winter, Spring)
Dads are encouraged to participate in the Dad’s Club. This club is responsible for family events including the Spaghetti Dinner (Sept) and Texas Hold ‘em Poker Night for the adults (Feb) and a Spring BBQ (May).

Service Learning Chapel (October & May)
The fall chapel kicks off the school’s service learning program by providing a sense of renewed commitment to service. The spring chapel celebrates the blessing of serving and the year’s accomplishments. Parents are encouraged to attend these special chapels.

Common Ground Speaker Series (September – May)
Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School is a member of Common Ground; a coalition of Bay Area schools that have joined together to provide parent education to their school communities through experts in the fields of education and parenting. Saint Andrew’s parents may attend the speaker events at no cost. Guests are required to pay a fee. Please see the Common Ground Calendar for speakers, times and dates.

Harvest Festival (October)
Dressed in their costumes, students participate in this afternoon of Halloween fun. Students have lunch with their buddies, then head to Crestbrook Field, for a Friday afternoon filled with games suited for Pre-K through 5th grades. Middle School students chaperone younger students as well as run activity booths.

3rd-5th Grade Pizza & Games (November)
With the help of parent volunteers, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students enjoy playing Bingo, eating pizza and having a great time with their classmates.

GrandFriends’ Day Celebration (November)
The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, grandparents and special family friends are invited to an afternoon program of music, art, great food, and classroom visits. Parent volunteers support this event for the more than 400 guests who attend.

Spring Musical (March)
Featuring third through eighth grades, the Spring Musical is always a hit among Saint Andrew’s families. Parent volunteers share their talents and help with many areas of the show.

Variety Show (April)
Open to all students, the Variety Show provides an opportunity for individuals or groups of students to perform their own act. Any talent is welcome! Parent volunteers coordinate ticket sales, stage sound and lighting, and intermission refreshments.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Lunch (April)
During the Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences, teachers are treated to a well-deserved luncheon.

National Teacher/Staff Appreciation Day (May)
In recognition of all our teachers and staff, funds from the Used Uniform sales are used to provide breakfast and coffee for all teachers and staff.

Spring Social & Fundraiser (May)
Parents, teachers, staff and alumni attend this extremely fun event of outstanding food, games, with an auction, and great camaraderie. The Spring Social raises money to fund the Parents’ Association budget, Common Ground membership, financial aid, and a meaningful gift to the school that directly benefits our children. A significant number of parents share their time, talent and resources to help make this event successful. Parent volunteers are needed for both big and small jobs throughout the year and during the event.

Field Day (May)
During the school day, all grades participate an afternoon of fun. Student have lunch with their buddies then the Lower School participates in games and races at Crestbrook Field with the day concluding with an 8th grade vs. Faculty and Staff in a volleyball match. Parent volunteers from each class “coach” the games and races for Lower School.

Tropical Day (May)
Middle School students, faculty, and parent volunteers get in the spirit and don their favorite tropical-inspired garb while being treated to a festive lunch.

All Parent Appreciation Breakfast (June)
This breakfast is for all of the parents. It is a celebration of the countless ways that parents make a positive difference within the Saint Andrew’s Community and for their children.

Teacher/Staff Birthday Celebration Program (September – May)
Throughout the year, Teachers/Staff birthdays are celebrated once a month in the Teacher/Staff Lounge with snacks and special treats. Parent volunteers help coordinate the monthly celebration.
