Calling all Class of 2007 alumni and alumni parents! Join us for a Reunion on Thursday, May 5 from 4-7pm under The Oak on campus! It's a great time to catch up with classmates and teachers for graduates as well as parents. We'll be serving pizza and snacks, taking photos, and generally having a great time! Look for your invitation in the mail or contact Tammy Sheridan in the Development Office at (408) 867-3785 x205 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org for details. Siblings are warmly welcome too!
Posing for a group photo is the Class of 2006 at their reunion last year.
Special thanks to Gordon Wong '96
, architect, who came back to campus on March 29 to participate in the Middle School's Third Annual Science Symposium, themed Inspiration & Exploration
. Gordon engaged the students with a hands-on presentation about architecture and his building projects in California and China. More than two dozen other scientists, mathematicians, engineers and a broad range of experts joined Gordon to engage students in their life's work, what inspires them and talking with the students about what the future holds for their individual career paths. If you have a career or hobby in a science-related field, contact Gail Longfellow at (408) 867-3785 x207 or via email at email@example.com
for possible inclusion in next year's Symposium.
Amanda Ramar Giordano '94
and Lindsay Ramar '97
joined us March 30 as part of the 50th Anniversary Alumni Speaker Series. Lindsay recently accepted a position with Jefferies & Company, Inc., a global securities and investment banking firm. Amanda is currently a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse at UCSF and is pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Policy at UCSF.
Lindsay and Amanda discussed the challenges of high school including rigorous academic and extracurricular schedules as well as facing peer pressure, their respective college careers and the choices they made regarding classes and outside-the-classroom experiences, as well as what it's like to be a young graduate in today's social and economic environment.
The 50th Anniversary Alumni Speaker Series was specially created this year, the school's 50th anniversary, to highlight the school's many talented alumni/ae and showcase what they are doing in their personal and professional lives to make a positive impact on their communities. Alums are invited throughout the year to come back and share their experiences with our 8th graders during their Advisory period.
Last fall, Max Wainwright '99
spoke to the students about the work that he is doing a
t UC-Santa Cruz while pursuing a PhD in theoretical physics, concentrating on dark matter in space. Max was awarded a Graduate Research Fellowship Program from the National Science Foundation in 2010 and attended the Lindau Meeting of Nobel Laureates in the spring of 2010.
If you would like to participate in this unique alumni program, contact Gail Longfellow at (408) 867-3785 x207 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
On April 1, the Geoffrey Andrew Ladd Discovery Award was presented to seventh grader, Amy Y. (center), who exemplifies the qualities of the Ladd Award - a spirit of citizenship, civility, curiosity, and adventuresome
passion for discovery and learning. She is surrounded by Grace P. '11, last year's Ladd Award recipient and Davy Fields '00, who returned to campus for the Award presentation and who was the Ladd recipient in 1998.
The Ladd Award was established in 1996 in memory of Geoffrey Andrew Ladd, a student whose concern for
and acceptance of others, eagerness to learn about the world through
travel and exploration, and joy in living inspired this award. The Award provides the student and an accompanying parent an educational, travel/learning experience in Australia in honor of Geoffrey's dual citizenship.
Join me in the Half Century Society! More than 35 alums have joined the Half Century Society of Giving by making a gift to this year's Annual Fund and pledging to make a gift to the school in 2011-2012.
This is a special donor society for a once-in-a-lifetime period in the school's history - it's 50th Anniversary. Membership in the Society reflects a strong commitment to Saint Andrew's Episcopal School, honors the commemoration of the school's 50th Anniversary, and advances the school's annual giving goals so that the school can provide a unique educational experience to today's students and future generations. Gifts to annual giving provide laptops for students, funding for the music, art and P.E. programs, and brings science and technology into the classroom with state-of-the-art technology such as ActivBoards. To join, go to www.st-andrews.org/gift
and make a gift today. When you do you'll be among good company - the Society is open only
I hope you take this opportunity to reconnect with the school that helped shape the person you are today. Where you made your first best friends. Where you developed your sense of community and character. Come visit the school, offer to be a guest speaker for our current students, join the Saint Andrew's Episcopal School Alumni Group on Facebook and send your Alumni News to email@example.com

Special thanks to Davy Fields '00 (center) for sending us these photos
of classmates Jeff Barry (left) and Chris Curd (right) from 'back in the

Any and all photos are welcome - send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mark your calendar now to go Cruising Through the Decades as Saint Andrew's celebrates it's 50th Anniversary at the Spring Social and Auction!
This is the 'party' of our Anniversary year! The evening will include flashback photos, entertainment, h'ors d'oeuvres and silent auction, raffles and games, dinner and live auction and, of course, dancing the night away with friends.
So dig out that mini-dress or mod attire, the bell bottoms and tie-dye shirt or those favorite legwarmers, headband and 'Flashdance'-inspired sweatshirt. Or maybe you're more into flared pants and platform shoes - whatever your favorite fashion trend, show some Saint Andrew's spirit and be part of this great party that also supports the school.
You'll receive an invitation via email or postal mail. For questions about tickets, contact Gail Longfellow at (408) 867-3785 x207 or via email at email@example.com
. If you have a donation of gift certificates, vacation home, iPods or other gadgets, let Gail know!
