The Leaflet for August 11, 2016
Volume 56, Issue 1August 11, 2016

Greetings from the PAB President
Dear Saint Andrew's Parents,
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! I am always amazed at how quickly the summer goes by and another school year begins. The beginning of the school year brings the anticipation of reconnecting with friends, meeting teachers, and sharing experiences from the summer. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of the new families who are joining us this year. For returning families, welcome back!

The first day of school, August 23, begins with Opening Chapel, a wonderful Saint Andrew’s tradition. Immediately following Opening Chapel, the Parents’ Association Board (PAB) will host an All Parent Coffee under The Oak Tree. The All Parent Coffee is a gathering where you will have an opportunity to connect with other parents. Members of the Parents’ Association Board will also share the many different opportunities to get involved at Saint Andrew’s. Both new and returning families are encouraged to attend.

My Green Lunch - updated options and deadlines
You asked.  My Green Lunch responded.

Feedback from parents (in our parent survey) and students (through survey and the Student Council) has lead to some changes for our food service this year. For our parents, the times to order and/or cancel have been extended.  You can now order your child's lunch up until 11:00AM the day prior to service + if you miss that deadline, you can still order up until 7:00PM the night prior for an additional dollar. (If you miss even that deadline, a limited selection of emergency meals will be available for children each day.)

Get the School App
Why do I need the school app?  The app includes fast access to campus news, the school directory, our Facebook page, the event calendar, links to My Green Lunch, iVolunteer, Schoology, photos, videos and more!  The Friday Reminders and The Leaflet also appear under the Bulletins tab for easy future access.

The #1 benefit cited by parents is access to the most current parent directory!!  The directory is secure.  To access the directory, you first need to confirm your identity.  Click Directory - Request My Password - Enter the email address you have registered with the school - Check Your Email for your confirmation.

If you have any questions about the app, contact Lisa Robinson.

Family Information Form
If you have not done so already, please review/update your Family Information Form by August 15th so that we might publish an accurate parent phone directory.
Parent-Student Handbook
Please be sure to read the 2016-2017 Parent-Student Handbook and complete the Parent and Student Acknowledgement of Understanding Form. The form is super easy and should be completed by Monday, August 15th.
Used Uniform Sale
The PAB will host a sale of gently used (and sometimes new) school uniform items on Thursday, August 25th beginning at 7:30 AM in The Center.  Come pick up an extra sweatshirt or consider a pair of shorts a size larger than your child currently wears -- all at super discounted prices.  The sale is just one day and will close at 3:00 PM. If you're interested in volunteering for all or a portion of the sale day, please contact Laura Murphy.
